“It seemed like a good idea at the time.” You’re gonna hear that a lot from Mark Glavina, owner of Phoenix Art Workshop which was established in 1997 and continues to provide custom framing, restoration services, art supplies, and education right here in Steveston Village. He’s also the guy behind The Travelling Brush and legendary Grand Prix of Art. Mark’s personal stories reveal what beautiful things can grow from positive childhood experiences, the courage to pursue new ideas, and a continuous aim for excellence.
In this episode, you’ll hear about:
The founding story and evolution of Phoenix Art Workshop
Growing up in a large family and Mark’s relationship with his parents
Advice on living life with purpose
Creation of The Travelling Brush, merging international travel with art exploration
History of the Grand Prix of Art and its significance in celebrating artists
